About the role:

We are looking for motivated, caring and compassionate people to join our team in Grimsby. We have a well‑established hub working in place for our residential and community supported living services. After training, guidance, and support, you may be required to travel to a number of local services within the hub to meet the needs of the people we support. Linkage is excited to announce that an extra house will be reopening within the Grimsby Hub soon, creating employment opportunities for this location and the rest of the hub.

You will be delivering care and support to enhance the independence skills of people with learning disabilities, giving them choice and control over their own lives, and supporting them to pursue their interests. The role will involve:

  • Supporting with activities such as swimming, biking, baking and trips to the cinema
  • Organising leisure activities for the people you support
  • Assisting and monitoring the people we support with their personal health and care needs
  • Planning, purchasing and preparing meals
  • Providing a caring environment following specific procedures as detailed in their care plan, whilst maintaining respect and dignity
  • Administrating and recording medication as per the medication system
  • Informing the manager of any significant developments and/or difficulties within the care setting
  • Arranging and accompanying the people we support to doctors, dentists and social appointments as necessary

About you:

  • Good housekeeping skills including cooking, cleaning and budget management
  • Can remain patient in challenging situations and have an understanding approach towards the needs of individuals with learning difficulties
  • Flexible approach to meeting individual needs
  • Willing to undertake personal care when required
  • Basic IT skills
  • Willing to complete in‑house training and basic induction
