We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a thriving secondary school in Staveley. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive school environment and gain valuable classroom experience.
We are looking for a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to supervise lessons across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4 level. You will be expected to manage a classroom, ensure pupils remain on task with the work set, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment. This is a temporary role initially, but there is potential for long-term or permanent placement for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver pre-set lesson materials in the absence of teaching staff
- Ensure that students stay on task and engage positively with learning
- Manage classroom behaviour and report any incidents following school policy
- Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to support student learning
- Provide feedback on lesson activity and student progress
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or coaching capacity is desirable
- Training: Basic understanding of classroom behaviour management techniques
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities; a current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Link3
To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, candidates should demonstrate:
- Substantial classroom experience within a secondary school setting
- CPD training in behaviour management or classroom leadership
