Overview: The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance will be a driving force in the financial performance and strategic growth of the MUFG Retirement Solutions business within MUFG Pension & Market Service. You will be responsible for providing leadership, commercial insights and strategic decision-making support to optimise profit, improve efficiency and drive business growth. This is a critical role for the business and so the Senior Manager, Commercial Finance will be based on a hybrid basis from our stunning city centre office in London. This means you'll need to be within a commutable distance to enable you to be in the office each week with your stakeholders.
You will business partner the SLT on all Commercial Finance matters, being the key liaison between business unit leaders and the Planning & Performance team, ensuring delivery of high-quality business planning around P&L, revenue, capex and key P&L drivers. You will take responsibility for providing commercial and financial expertise to the business, with a focus on pricing and investment optionality, proactively monitoring progress towards organisational goals, including analysis of revenue, costs, resource management and key P&L and capex drivers. Co-ordinating cross-functional working groups with other departments to align commercial activities with overall business goals, the Senior Manager will challenge the status quo enhancing financial processes and contributing to the overall commercial success of the MUFG Retirement Solutions business through innovative thinking, driving efficiency and enhancing commercial acumen.

What you need:
- A relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and/or post-secondary qualification, or substantial relevant, demonstrable work experience in a similar role in a complex industry
- Demonstrable experience in a related senior finance or commercial role advising senior management teams and driving business outcomes
- Demonstrated success of proactively driving continuous process improvement
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain robust relationships across all functions and levels of the organisation
- The flexibility and responsiveness to be able to work to tight deadlines within a complex, matrixed, global environment
- Credibility and influencing skills, with highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills and a critical mindset with the ability to question assumptions, evaluate evidence and consider multiple perspectives
- Demonstrable experience in implementing controls and procedures to mitigate financial and operational risks
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a proficiency in using technology and analytics tools to analyse and interpret data, with an ability to leverage data-driven insights to support decision-making and drive business outcomes

- An understanding of the Pension / Financial Services industry, and/or knowledge and experience in dealing within a heavily regulated environment would be advantageous
Day to Day, your tasks will include:
- Collaborating with the SLT to develop long-term plans and refine strategies for growth, developing insights and analysis to support decisions for sustainable profitability
- Provide financial guidance to ensure commercial initiatives are aligned with business objectives, including detailed financial modelling, to understand financial impacts
- Supporting new and renewing contractual activities from inception through to signing, including liaising with relevant stakeholders
- Leading or supporting strategic initiatives that impact the commercial outcomes for the organisation, such as M&A, market expansion and product expansion
- Developing the commercial narrative and inputs for relevant meetings, committees and Board, including budgetary requirements, strategic inputs, competitive pressures, expected outcomes, key performance measures and capital expenditure
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPI's) related to commercial and operational activities, including sales performance, customer acquisition costs and revenue growth
- Analysing variances and trends for Board/Executive reporting to identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiencies
- Leading the development and execution of financial, commercial and operational plans, budgets and forecasts in-line with organisation targets and deadlines
- Developing and maintaining driver based forecast models to drive more accurate forecasting, greater accountability and a better understanding of performance trends, including input into client profitability analysis
- Providing financial and commercial insights and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning, in addition to overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial reports
- Developing effective reporting and analytic processes to ensure effective cost management, including client profitability, capacity management and vendor management
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency and enhance the overall commercial strategy, as well as implementing best practices and standards to ensure consistency and effectiveness across Finance
- Working closely with the Procurement team to support and provide input into procurement related activities in relation to key MUFG Retirement Solution supplier re-tenders
- Ensuring full adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and the good conduct of the businesses, maintaining ongoing compliance and upholding organisational reputation
- Providing visible leadership, mentorship, guidance and professional development opportunities to support career growth and employee engagement within the wider team
