We are currently working with an SEN school located in Bromley who are seeking a committed SEN Learning Support Assistant who has a passion for working with children between the ages of 4 – 19. This school is currently seeking an inspirational and highly motivated SEN Learning Support Assistant with a positive nature and a sense of humour. Experience working with SEN students and experience with Autism within the specialist education sector is preferable for this role. The successful candidate will work as part of a team which provides children with appropriate opportunities to make outstanding progress in every aspect of their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a safe, organised and stimulating environment that fosters curiosity, independence and celebrates pupils’ achievements.
  • Adhere to all school safeguarding policies and procedures and maintain high standards of safety while observing good practice in relation to health and safety issues.
  • Ensure that communication with students, staff and other departments is effective and contributes to securing efficiency and high standards of care and personal development for students within a learning and residential environment.
  • Be aware of and implement students’ care plans and assist the students in the development of their independence outcomes within the individualised programme.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience working with SEN students within a classroom.
  • Strong classroom skills with the ability to create a positive learning environment and excellent communication skills.
