The Role
This is a field‑based position focused on statutory inspections of plant and industrial equipment. You’ll be responsible for carrying out thorough examinations and ensuring full compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations. This role suits someone confident working independently and representing a business professionally on customer sites.
- Approx. 70% site‑based work (nationwide travel)
- Approx. 30% yard‑based support
- Occasional overnight stays required

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out statutory inspections in line with LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations
- Assess plant and industrial equipment for safety, condition, and compliance
- Identify defects, risks, and non‑compliance, providing clear recommendations
- Produce accurate inspection reports and compliance documentation
- Liaise professionally with customers, explaining findings and required actions
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
- Support the ongoing development of inspection processes and standards
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced Engineer Surveyor who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of safety, compliance, and attention to detail.
- Proven experience carrying out LOLER, PUWER, and/or PSSR inspections
- Strong background in plant machinery, lifting equipment, access equipment, forklifts, HGVs, or similar
- Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Confident working independently and managing your own workload
- Experience producing formal inspection and compliance reports
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant, Engineering, or similar
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
