We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Spanish (Modern Foreign Languages) to join a thriving secondary school in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a forward-thinking and supportive learning environment.

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to deliver engaging and effective MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent, offering an excellent opportunity for an individual who is committed to raising achievement and encouraging a love for languages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Spanish lessons that align with the national curriculum.
  • Track and assess student progress, offering targeted feedback and support.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the MFL department to share best practices.
  • Support extracurricular language activities and promote cultural enrichment.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience teaching Spanish in a UK secondary school, ideally including experience with GCSE preparation.
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Spanish or a related field, and UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Training: Good understanding of effective teaching strategies, differentiation, and classroom behaviour management.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for language education.

All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one registered to the update service. To be considered for the higher end of the salary scale, candidates should demonstrate:
  • Strong student outcomes in Spanish at GCSE level.
