About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our secondary school site team. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves working either fixed or flexible hours across morning and afternoon shifts, all taking place outside of the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties across the school, including classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely
- Clean surfaces, furniture, and equipment
- Refill hygiene and cleaning supplies as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the Site Manager
- Follow all school policies, including safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check essential
- Right to work in the UK essential
- UK qualification (GCSEs, A-Levels etc)
- Previous cleaning experience (preferable but not essential)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to manage physical aspects of the role
