We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of French (Modern Foreign Languages) to join a thriving secondary school in Derby. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic French Teacher to deliver high-quality MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent, ideal for someone with a love of languages and a strong commitment to student progress and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions where necessary.
  • Encourage a love for language learning through dynamic teaching methods and cultural exploration.
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that promotes participation and respect.
  • Work collaboratively with the MFL department and contribute to curriculum planning and extracurricular activities.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience teaching French in a UK secondary school, ideally including KS4 (GCSE).
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in French or a related field, along with UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Training: Effective classroom management and lesson differentiation. Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organisational abilities, and a passion for language teaching.
  • DBS Check: All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one registered to the update service. The cost of a DBS may be passed to the applicant.
