Link3 Recruitment is seeking reliable, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors with a qualification/experience in English Literature/Language to support a number ofSsecondary schools across the Coventry area.
We are particularly interested in individuals who have a strong academic background in English Literature/Language, and a genuine passion for the subject. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering pre-set English lessons, inspiring students through their deep knowledge of literary texts, themes, and historical contexts. A true enthusiast for English, you will foster a love for reading, critical thinking, and expressive writing in the classroom. Your ability to engage students with rich literary content and encourage thoughtful discussion will play a key role in maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour during teacher absences.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the regular class teacher, demonstrating strong classroom management and the ability to keep students engaged
- Maintain a strong classroom presence to support a focused and respectful learning environment
- Deliver pre-set English lessons while upholding high standards of behaviour and encouraging active participation
- Support students with tasks and contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement
- Promote literacy and a love for English through enthusiastic lesson delivery and academic support
Requirements
- A strong academic background in English (Degree or equivalent)
- Have some understanding across all keystages up to GCSE\’s and A\’Levels
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., in education, youth work, or tutoring)
- Confident classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively
- Flexible, adaptable, and committed to supporting students\’ learning
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the UK
