The Opportunity
Our client, a successful and expanding manufacturing business based in Grimsby, is looking to recruit an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to strengthen their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment, whilst benefiting from a shift pattern that does not include night working.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all production and site equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Supporting mechanical maintenance activities where required.
- Fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery and automated equipment.
- Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns.
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning projects.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, food production, packaging or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
- Experience with PLCs, drives, motors, sensors and control systems.
- A recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- A good understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
