An opportunity has arisen for a Tool Maker (CNC Machinist) to join our Toolroom Department at the award-winning manufacturer Liniar Ltd, based in Denby, Derbyshire. This position plays a key role in ensuring production quality, efficiency and tooling reliability.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Be able to read engineering drawings to produce parts required using lathes, drills, milling machines, and grinding machines to manufacture precision components.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust as necessary.
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools.
- Set up and operate conventional, CNC or NC machine tools such as lathes, WEDM machines, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to given tolerances and specifications.
- Inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity, and defects.
- Program using fusion software to set up, run, monitor, and adjust Hurco CNC machine.
- Ensure all extrusion tools and dies meet quality standards and are within tight specified tolerance.

- Experience interpreting 3D models (Fusion stp files).
- Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Engineering/Apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in all types of precision machining.
- Knowledge of the strengths and characteristics of metals and other materials, what the different cutting tools can do when working with a variety of materials, and knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially the uPVC industry would be beneficial.
- Previous experience of working in manufacturing/uPVC would be beneficial.

Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Salary: Up to £17.52 p/h dependant on experience.
