We are looking for a salaried GP to join our welcoming, hardworking, and forward-thinking team. Ling House Medical Centre is part of the Wharfedale Airedale and Craven PCN (WACA). Main duties of the job:

  • Operating from our main and branch sites in Keighley, we care for 20,000+ patients.
  • Our team comprises of 4 Partners and 7 Salaried GPs who are supported by our excellent team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics and ARRS roles staff including our Nurse Associate, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers and Physios as well as a large, experienced Nursing, Reception, Admin and Management Team.
  • We have an excellent record of recruiting newly qualified GPs into the practice and are willing to wait for the right candidate to complete their training.
  • We pride ourselves on being friendly and supportive. We have a duty doctor on hand each day to help with any queries that may arise.
  • We are always looking to improve our patients' experience and have been keen to embrace new digital solutions to improve patient experience and access; having implemented a total triage system offering acute on the day appointments as well as routine planned pre-booked appointments.

About us:

Ling House Medical Centre is a large GP practice based on the edge of Bronte country in Keighley, West Yorkshire. We have 2 sites, our main site is Ling House Medical Centre, and we have a smaller site, Mornington House which is adjacent to the main building. We are an approachable and supportive team with an open-door policy. We are proud to have a fabulous and friendly multidisciplinary team to support us. We aim to provide a high standard of care whilst maintaining the local feel of the practice and incorporating the current changes in general practice. We are fortunate to be part of the Airedale Craven and Wharfedale PCN (WACA).

Job responsibilities:

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients, making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care professionals.
  • Visiting patients in their own home when required.
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collecting data for audit purposes.
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically).
  • The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing.

Person Specification:

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment.
  • Experience of continued professional development.
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit.
  • General understanding of the GMS contract.
  • Experience of medicines management.
  • Experience of PCN initiatives.

  • Polite and confident.
  • Flexible and cooperative.
  • Motivated, forward thinker.
  • Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required.
  • High levels of integrity and loyalty.

  • GP with specialist interests, for example minor surgery, joint injections and sexual health.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified GP.
  • MRCGP.
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent.
  • JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training).
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • National Performers List registration.
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU).
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Current enhanced DBS check.
