The Opportunity
- Act as a key account lead within the commercial projects sector, building trusted client relationships based on partnership and delivery excellence.
- Lead and oversee strategic client projects, ensuring delivery against programme objectives, commercial targets and contract performance measures.
- Chair and lead meetings with senior client stakeholders, contractors and project partners.
- Support business growth by developing new client relationships and securing repeat work.
- Lead pre- and post-contract cost management across complex construction programmes.
- Manage the tender and procurement process, from preparation of tender documentation through tender analysis and recommendation.
- Produce and review estimates, cost plans and commercial strategies for major developments.
- Monitor project spend through valuations, cost reporting and change management, clearly communicating risks and opportunities.
- Support the preparation and negotiation of final accounts, ensuring best value for clients.
- Lead the resolution of construction disputes, variations and loss/expense claims with transparency and commercial clarity.
- Negotiate contract terms and commercial agreements with contractors and external partners.
- Lead and mentor cost management professionals, driving performance, development and technical excellence.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on quality, innovation and client value.
- Support team growth through coaching, knowledge sharing and structured development.

- Are an experienced cost manager on large scale commercial construction projects with increasing levels of leadership.
- Are chartered RICS, ideally although not essential.
- Are savvy in understanding the business model and pursuing market opportunities.
- Have a degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
- Have experience in pre- and post-contract cost management on commercial projects.
- Are an excellent communicator verbally and in writing.
- Thrive on building strong relationships with your team and clients through a shared purpose and sense of openness and fun.
