The Extracare Charitable Trust is recruiting for an Activities & Events Coordinator on a permanent contract at the Hughenden Gardens Retirement Village, High Wycombe. We offer 20 hours per week at £14.42 per hour (£15,037 per annum pro‑rata of £28,195). The successful candidate will be part of our supportive team committed to ExtraCare’s mission of “better lives for older people”. Note: Extracare does not participate in the current UK Visa Sponsorship scheme, so we cannot provide sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Co‑ordinate an overall activity programme for residents and friends, ensuring activities are accessible to all.
  • Carry out risk assessments as part of the activity planning.
  • Encourage and support residents to lead their own interest groups or activity sessions.
  • Work with interest groups to organise expenditure of individual budgets.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to organise themed evenings, promote events and maximise attendance.

Person Specification

  • Experience in activities or events coordination.
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments for activity planning.
  • Experience with income generation and budget management.
  • IT literate, proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Personable, an effective communicator and a team player.
  • Passionate about delivering a quality care service.
  • Flexible with hours.
