We are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, repair, and preparation of a range of plant and equipment, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, and available for hire and sale.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, inspect, and repair mechanical and non‑mechanical plant and equipment.
- Prepare equipment for hire and sale, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and processed accurately.
- Complete maintenance records, service documentation, and system updates.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance both in the workshop and on customer sites.
- Diagnose faults and identify equipment requiring repair, replacement, or disposal.
- Support stock control activities, audits, and annual stock checks.
- Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and health & safety compliance.
- Work closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability and utilisation.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role.
- Current CSCS card preferred.
- NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and Repairs or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical skills and fault‑finding ability.
- Computer literate with good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Forklift licence.
- Experience within plant hire, construction, utilities, or related sectors.
