The Role
As a Site Engineer, you will provide engineering support across multiple regional projects, responsible for setting out works and establishing survey control in line with contract drawings, ensuring accuracy through regular checks. You will initially support the Manor Road NOS7 and NOS8 remediation packages for a major water client. These involve the repair of two bridge structures and five trunk sewer barrels across rail and road spans. With the scheme currently in design, this role offers early involvement in a complex, large-scale infrastructure project. You will work closely with Site Agents, Sub Agents, and Engineers to support project delivery from design through to construction, helping to identify risks, develop solutions, and improve efficiency. The role also provides exposure to cost, programme, and contract management, as well as involvement in site HSQE documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures
- Support development and implementation of HSQE documentation
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, and defect-free
- Promote best practice and identify value engineering opportunities
- Site Engineering
- Establish and maintain survey and level control for contracts
- Carry out accurate setting out from contract drawings with regular checks
- Maintain site records, diaries, and allocation sheets
- Resolve technical issues as they arise on site
- Support procurement planning, ITPs, task briefings, and short-term look-aheads
About You
Essential
- Experience in setting out on civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, health & safety, and regulations
- Competent with robotic total station or EDM equipment
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
Desirable
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience
- Temporary Works or CAT & Genny training
- CSCS Card
- First Aid, NEBOSH or IOSH certifications
