Freelance Assistant Site Manager

Linear Recruitment are currently working with a well-established housebuilder who are looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager to join a new build housing development in County Durham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join an established site team and play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-quality residential development.
The Role
Working closely with the Site Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day management and coordination of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the development
- Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and site trades
- Monitoring progress against the programme
- Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards
- Carrying out regular site inspections and quality checks
- Maintaining strong health & safety standards across the site
- Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics
- Attending site meetings and providing progress updates
- Ensuring relevant site documentation and records are maintained
- Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to ensure programme targets are achieved
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on new build housing developments
- Strong knowledge of residential construction and build processes
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities
- A strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements
- SMSTS
- CSCS
- First Aid
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of an established site team
