We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a civil engineering scheme based in Teesside. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise site activities and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and to specification.
- Coordinate daily site operations and monitor progress against programme.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
- Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, client representatives and supply chain partners.
- Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, permits and inspection documentation.
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays and disruption.
- Ensure materials, plant and labour resources are effectively managed.
- Proven experience supervising civil engineering projects, ideally including roads, drainage, earthworks or infrastructure schemes.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
- Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- CSCS card (Supervisor/Manager level preferred).
- First Aid at Work certification desirable.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple work fronts.
