We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor working on a major data centre scheme in Dunstable. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to join a high-profile project and play a key role in the commercial management and delivery of the scheme.
The Role
- Managing the commercial aspects of the project from pre-construction through to completion
- Managing subcontractor procurement, packages and accounts
- Preparing and reviewing subcontract orders and valuations
- Cost reporting, forecasting and financial control
- Managing variations, compensation events and change control
- Preparing monthly applications and payment assessments
- Reviewing and agreeing final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Working closely with the Project Manager and wider site team
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting to senior management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with the client and supply chain
About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contracting background. Experience working on data centres, M&E-intensive projects, industrial, commercial or other complex schemes would be highly advantageous. You should have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing subcontract packages and accounts
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts would be beneficial
- Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification preferred, although strong experience will be considered
