We are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager to join a major data centre project in Enfield, taking responsibility for the overall delivery and coordination of the civils works across the scheme. This is an excellent opportunity for a Construction Manager with a strong civil engineering background who has experience managing complex, high-value construction projects and coordinating multiple site teams and subcontractors.

The Role

As Construction Manager, you will oversee the delivery of the civils works, ensuring construction activities are properly planned, coordinated and delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team, engineers, subcontractors and client to ensure the smooth delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall delivery of the civils package
  • Manage and coordinate Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors
  • Ensure construction activities are delivered safely and in line with programme
  • Coordinate groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage, utilities and associated civils
  • Develop and manage short-term programmes and lookaheads
  • Monitor progress and identify potential delays or issues
  • Coordinate multiple subcontractors and site activities
  • Ensure works are delivered to specification and required quality standards
  • Maintain strong health & safety standards across the project
  • Liaise with the client, consultants and wider project team
  • Attend and lead construction meetings
  • Identify and resolve construction and technical issues
  • Ensure RAMS and construction methodologies are properly implemented
  • Support project handover and successful completion

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager within civil engineering
  • Strong experience managing large-scale civils or infrastructure projects
  • Experience working on data centre, industrial, commercial or similarly complex schemes would be highly advantageous
  • Strong technical knowledge of groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage and utilities
  • Proven experience managing multiple site teams and subcontractors
  • Strong programme, planning and coordination skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
  • A strong focus on health, safety, quality and project delivery
  • Relevant construction qualifications, with SMSTS and First Aid essential
