We are currently recruiting for an experienced Survey Manager to join a major data centre project in Enfield, overseeing all surveying activities across the civils package on a large-scale, high-value development. This is an excellent opportunity for a Survey Manager with a strong civil engineering and construction surveying background who is confident managing surveying teams, setting out and ensuring accurate delivery across a complex project.

The Role

As Survey Manager, you will take responsibility for the management and coordination of all surveying activities across the project, working closely with the Construction Manager, Site Management and Engineering teams to ensure works are accurately set out and delivered in accordance with design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all surveying activities across the civils package
  • Lead and manage site-based surveyors and surveying teams
  • Oversee setting out and dimensional control for construction activities
  • Establish and maintain site control networks and benchmarks
  • Review construction drawings, specifications and survey information
  • Ensure accurate setting out of groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage, utilities and structures
  • Carry out quality checks and verification surveys
  • Manage as-built surveys and maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with engineers, designers, subcontractors and site management
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between design and site conditions
  • Ensure surveying equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained
  • Provide technical surveying support to the wider project team
  • Ensure all surveying activities are carried out safely and in line with project procedures

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Survey Manager / Senior Surveyor within civil engineering or construction
  • Strong experience delivering major civils or infrastructure projects
  • Extensive experience with setting out and dimensional control
  • Experience working on data centre, industrial, commercial or similarly complex schemes would be highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage, utilities and structural works
  • Experience managing surveying teams and coordinating surveying activities
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with relevant surveying equipment and software
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant surveying qualification or equivalent experience
  • CSCS and relevant site qualifications
