Overview We are working on behalf of a tier one contractor to recruit a Sub Agent to support the delivery of key water infrastructure projects across the North East London region on the Thames Water framework. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer or Section Engineer with water sector experience to take the next step into a management role. As Sub Agent, you will take ownership of smaller schemes or assist a Site Agent on larger projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Manage small-value sites independently or support the Site Agent on larger-scale projects. * Produce, monitor, and deliver against project programmes. * Interpret drawings and specifications, providing engineering guidance to site teams. * Ensure all staff, subcontractors, and visitors are inducted, competent, and compliant with safety requirements. * Act as a key contact for clients, stakeholders, and third-party bodies. * Oversee health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance, maintaining all required documentation. * Carry out and record inspections, audits, and progress reports. * Manage cost plans, control project expenditure, and seek opportunities for value engineering. * Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and “as built” documentation. * Chair site meetings when required and contribute to client reporting. Qualifications & Experience Essential: * Background in civil engineering, ideally in the water/utilities sector. * Experience as a Site Engineer or Section Engineer with aspirations to progress into a Sub Agent role. * Knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, programme management, and cost control. * Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). * CSCS card, SMSTS, and IOSH or NEBOSH certification. * Full driving licence. * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Desirable: * Working towards CEng, IEng, or equivalent professional status. * Temporary Works Co-ordinator certification. * Service avoidance and confined space training. * Appointed Person CPCS card.
