Salary: £38,000 – £40,000
We are seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician / Designer to join our client\’s team in Warrington. You will be responsible for producing detailed 2D drawings for our canopy and roof glazing systems, supporting projects from initial design through to completion. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure all designs align with technical specifications, industry standards, and project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop precise and detailed 2D CAD drawings (AutoCAD) for custom canopy and roof glazing systems
- Update and refine designs in response to project modifications and client feedback
- Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant industry regulations and internal standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify and interpret design requirements
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting throughout the design and installation phases
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and design records
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of CAD design/draughting experience within the construction industry
- Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (experience with 3D is advantageous but not essential)
- Background in sectors such as structural framing (timber, steel, or aluminium), curtain walling, roofing, or cladding
- Good understanding of construction methods and materials
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal, including over the phone
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with polycarbonate or aluminium systems
- Support experience with installation or on-site teams
