Overview
Our client, a fit-out and main contracting construction company based in the North East, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver high-quality projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Project Manager with a strong background in education sector builds and refurbishments (schools, colleges, academies) and wider commercial construction such as leisure centres and offices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate and motivate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor progress, resolve technical or logistical issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and building regulations.
- Implement and uphold strict Health & Safety standards in line with SMSTS guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including programmes, site diaries, and progress reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing fit-out or main contracting projects, ideally within the education sector (schools experience essential).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS qualifications required.
- Degree or technical qualification in Construction Management or a related field (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the region.
