The Role: A respected civil engineering contractor is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the delivery of infrastructure schemes across the Cambridge and Peterborough region. The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of multiple projects, with a strong focus on highways, flood defence, environment agency and water infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and wants to play a key role in delivering essential public infrastructure. The successful Project Manager will oversee all phases of project execution, from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and commercial targets. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the planning and delivery of civil engineering projects, acting as the primary Project Manager on site * Manage internal site teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient delivery and workforce coordination * Develop and implement construction phase plans, RAMS, and project-specific management documentation * Monitor costs, track budgets, and support commercial functions to ensure financial targets are met * Lead project programming, identifying and mitigating risks proactively * Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and delivery partners throughout the project lifecycle * Provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff and engineers * Ensure all site activities align with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards Candidate Requirements: * Demonstrable experience working as a Project Manager in the civil engineering or infrastructure sector * Strong background in delivering highways, flood defence, or water-related projects * Proficient in contract management (preferably NEC) and project controls * Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders * SMSTS and CSCS (essential) * Relevant qualifications such as HND, HNC or a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Benefits: * Company car or car allowance * Enhanced pension scheme * Life assurance (4x salary) * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with option to purchase additional days) * Access to employee wellbeing platform and rewards portal * Ongoing professional development and structured training How to Apply: Please submit your CV to express interest in this Project Manager opportunity.
