Overview We are recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for an experienced Project Manager to lead large infrastructure, roads, highways, and heavy civil engineering projects across Suffolk and Essex. As Project Manager, you will manage schemes from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and profitability, while developing your project team and maintaining excellent client relationships. Candidates local to Suffolk are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities * Act as Project Manager on site, leading staff, operatives, and subcontractors. * Prepare and review method statements, hazard risk assessments, and Project Management plans. * Monitor project budgets, tender allowances, and contract performance. * Plan, schedule, and monitor programmes of work as Project Manager. * Maintain strong client relationships and uphold the company’s reputation. * Coordinate design activities and manage sub-contractor engagement. * Supervise, mentor, and support the development of junior staff. * Ensure contracts are delivered safely, on time, and profitably. Qualifications & Experience * Proven experience as a Project Manager on large infrastructure, roads, highways, or heavy civil engineering projects. * Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills. * Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent). * SMSTS and CSCS card, with Temporary Works Coordinator experience. * Knowledge of NEC contracts desirable; First Aid at Work qualification is an advantage. * Ideally based locally to Suffolk and eligible to work in the UK.
