Overview: We are recruiting for an experienced Document Controller or Senior Document Controller to work for a leading main contractor on a major infrastructure project based in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. The Document Controller will support the project delivery team throughout the project lifecycle, taking responsibility for document management, information flow, reporting and maintaining electronic document management systems. The successful Document Controller will work closely with engineering, commercial and site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives to ensure project information is accurate, controlled and issued on time. For the Senior Document Controller opportunity, there will be additional responsibility for leading document control processes, supporting the wider team and helping to develop best practice. Key Responsibilities: As a Document Controller, you will: * Manage and control the flow of project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. * Maintain document registers, electronic document management systems and project filing structures. * Control document numbering, revisions, status, formatting and issue processes. * Ensure the latest approved documentation is available to the relevant project teams. * Manage technical, engineering, vendor, subcontractor, commercial and client documentation. * Check documentation for accuracy and compliance before issue. * Prepare and manage document transmittals and distribution of project information. * Monitor review and approval cycles, proactively chasing outstanding documentation. * Produce regular and ad-hoc document control and project status reports. * Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and client representatives. * Support project personnel with document control processes and best practice. As a Senior Document Controller, you will also take ownership of document control processes, provide guidance to project teams and support the training and development of other Document Controllers and project personnel. Qualifications: * Previous experience as a Document Controller, Senior Document Controller or in a similar project-based document management role. * Experience within construction, engineering, energy, utilities or oil & gas infrastructure is highly desirable. * Minimum 2 years' relevant experience for a Document Controller; greater experience expected for a Senior Document Controller. * Strong knowledge of document control processes and project documentation. * Experience using EDMS/CDE platforms such as Aconex, SharePoint, Viewpoint, ProjectWise or similar. * Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. * Confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels, with a proactive approach to chasing and expediting information. * Experience working for a main contractor on a major infrastructure project would be advantageous.
