An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Security Designer to join a specialist design team delivering physical and electronic security solutions across major Critical National Infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
Working within a collaborative and technically driven environment, you will support the planning, development, and delivery of integrated security systems for complex infrastructure programmes. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects while contributing to innovative and value-driven design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support site visits alongside the design team and act as the main contact for subcontract design coordination
- Develop electronic security scopes and technical specifications following site surveys and 3D scans
- Work closely with subcontract designers to review specifications, pricing, and technical submissions
- Manage Technical Queries (TQs) and maintain associated registers
- Support tendering and project delivery teams with technical documentation and bid submissions
- Ensure compliance with site and office security procedures and support accreditation requirements
- Interpret client requirements and develop compliant, secure design solutions
- Produce detailed design documentation including layouts, specifications, network architecture, cable schedules, and system schedules
About You
The successful candidate will have experience within electronic security system design and integration, ideally within highly regulated or infrastructure-based environments.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of integrated security systems including:
- Access Control
- Intruder Alarm Systems
- Analogue and IP CCTV
- Audio Challenge and Intercom Systems
- Experience integrating systems into local and remote ARC/RVRC security management platforms
- Knowledge of security equipment, devices, and associated infrastructure
- Experience producing technical documentation including URS and FDS documents
- Understanding of CDM regulations and temporary works requirements
- Relevant ONC/HNC/BEng qualification or NVQ equivalent
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the water or Critical National Infrastructure sectors
- Familiarity with AMTECH & AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of BIM / PAS 1192
