A well-established architectural practice is looking to appoint a Principal Designer (Building Regulations & CDM) to join their team. This is a key role within the practice, supporting the delivery of compliant, safe, and well-coordinated design information across all project stages. Requirements

  • Experience in architecture, building control, project management, or construction health & safety.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Understanding of HRBs and Gateway processes.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence design outcomes and manage risk.

Desirable

  • Professional membership (RIBA, CIAT, RICS, CIOB, CABE or similar).
  • Experience in Principal Designer or CDM advisory roles.

The Role

As Principal Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance and coordination across all project stages. Key responsibilities include:
