A growing construction consultancy is looking for a Principal Designer (Building Regulations) to support clients and design teams in delivering compliant projects under the Building Safety Act 2022. You’ll work across a diverse range of projects including residential, healthcare, commercial and industrial developments, ensuring design compliance and coordinating teams through the design and regulatory process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Building Regulations Principal Designer.
  • Advising clients on Building Safety Act compliance.
  • Coordinating design teams and managing compliance documentation.
  • Supporting Gateway submissions and HRB projects.
  • Maintaining the Golden Thread of information.
  • Attending client and design team meetings.

Requirements:

  • Background in architecture, building control, building surveying or design management.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Professional membership (RICS, CABE, RIBA, CIAT, CIOB etc.) desirable.

Permanent role, but freelance candidates outside IR35 will also be considered.
