Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join an established civil engineering team delivering a range of current and upcoming projects across the Kent and East Sussex region.

The successful Project Manager will take responsibility for delivering schemes across highways, bridge and structures, public realm, drainage and wider civil engineering infrastructure.

You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Agent looking to take ownership of significant civil engineering projects while working as part of a supportive and progressive regional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of civil engineering projects from planning through to completion.
  • Manage site teams, operatives, subcontractors and project resources.
  • Develop and monitor project programmes, costs and tender allowances.
  • Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments and project management plans.
  • Manage commercial performance, project risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate design development and construction requirements.
  • Procure, assess and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Ensure projects meet health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
  • Support the delivery of highways, structures, drainage, public realm and heavy civil engineering works.
  • Lead, mentor and develop Site Agents, Engineers and junior project team members.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site Agent within a main contractor environment.
  • Strong civil engineering background, ideally covering highways, structures, bridges, public realm or heavy civils.
  • Relevant qualification such as HNC, HND, BEng or equivalent.
  • Valid SMSTS, appropriate CSCS card and Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the regional project portfolio.
  • Experience with NEC contracts and a First Aid at Work qualification would be advantageous.
