Lead the delivery and commercial performance of a multi-package water infrastructure framework (Yorkshire Water-focused). You’ll be the senior point of contact for the client and internal teams, responsible for delivering civils, network and treatment-asset works to programme, budget and the framework KPIs while driving innovation, compliance and a “zero-harm” safety culture. The role is heavily civils- and utilities-focused — covering work such as pipeline and network renewals, pumping stations, tanks/reservoirs, treatment-asset refurbishment and storm overflow reduction schemes aligned to Yorkshire Water AMP frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day delivery and performance of the framework: ensure schemes are delivered on time, to budget and to client KPI standards.
- Act as primary client interface: build and maintain collaborative relationships with Yorkshire Water stakeholders, attend Portfolio Boards, Framework Steering Group and Framework Management Team meetings.
- Lead multiple project teams (design, construction, commercial, HSEQ) and ensure clear roles, accountability and consistent reporting to senior directors.
- Drive HSEQ excellence: embed company and client SH&E/Q requirements, target zero incidents and defect-free handovers.
- Manage commercial performance: own forecasting, CVR interrogation, cost control, bid submissions and commercial reporting into the board.
- Improve delivery: identify and implement operational/process improvements, value engineering and appropriate technology (e.g., digital site workflows, innovative construction solutions, low-carbon options).
- Resource planning: ensure sufficient in-house and supply chain capability (design resources, plant, operatives) to meet framework demand.
- Monthly performance reporting to senior leadership and support board-level decisions on framework strategy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven track record managing water-sector frameworks or similar multi-package frameworks (preferable experience on Yorkshire Water AMP frameworks or equivalent water-company frameworks).
- Strong civils/utilities delivery background — pipeline renewals, pumping stations, tanks/reservoirs, treatment-asset works or sewer rehabilitation.
- Experience with NEC (or equivalent) forms of contract and client-led KPI regimes.
- Degree or equivalent technical qualification; membership/qualification such as APM, MCIOB, CEng or similar is advantageous.
- Commercially astute with demonstrable experience of budget control, CVR review and bid preparation.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder-management skills — able to present at director/board level and influence client decisions.
- IT literate (MS Office suite and project reporting systems) and comfortable with digital reporting tools.
- Strong commitment to HSEQ and continuous improvement.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and bonus opportunity (negotiable based on experience).
- Company pension and standard employee benefits package.
- Professional development and chartership support.
- Ongoing training (HSEQ, leadership, technical) and career progression within large framework delivery teams.
- Meaningful exposure to complex civils projects on a major water-company framework.
