An opportunity to deliver full electrical design solutions on a range of building services and infrastructure projects for a key client. This role covers concept design through to site delivery, with responsibility for design leadership, project quality, and client engagement across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Deliver full electrical design: LV distribution, cable containment, lighting (with controls), fire alarms, small power, structured cabling
- Provide concept design, costings, technical specs, and input to tender submissions
- Carry out calculations for volt drop, supply sizing, and protection systems
- Liaise with controls engineers to help develop control strategies and descriptions of operation
- Produce drawings and calculations (manual/software) per RIBA stages and BG6 Design Framework
- Conduct site surveys, snagging inspections, and generate reports
- Attend internal and client meetings to update on progress and resolve issues
- Monitor project quality and financials, and expand internal electrical/technical standards
- Lead and mentor electrical design team as needed
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design for building services/infrastructure
- Chartered Engineer or working towards with CIBSE or IET
- In-depth knowledge of:
- CIBSE Guides
- IEE Wiring Regulations
- BS7671 (18th Edition with Amendments)
- CDM Regulations
- British Standards
- Revit/BIM Standards (UK)
- RIBA or BG6 Design Frameworks
- Amtech
- Hevacomp
- AutoCAD
- Dialux or Relux
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF tools
Desirable
- Experience using Revit and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) & HBN (Health Building Notes) standards
- HV systems exposure
