Freelance Working Foreman Location: Stockton-on-Tees Duration: Freelance Sector: Civil Engineering Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience We are currently recruiting for an experienced Working Foreman to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on a project in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a hands-on site-based position, suited to an experienced Foreman/Site Supervisor who is confident leading site activities while also getting involved with the works directly. The Role As Working Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors and site teams, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard. Key responsibilities include: Supervising and coordinating site operatives and subcontractors Assisting with the planning and sequencing of daily works Working hands-on alongside the site team where required Ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with RAMS Monitoring quality and ensuring specifications are followed Coordinating plant, materials and deliveries Liaising with the Site Manager and Project Management team Maintaining high standards of health & safety on site Reporting progress, issues and requirements to senior management Ensuring programmes and daily targets are achieved About You The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience as a Working Foreman, General Foreman, Site Supervisor or similar Strong experience within civil engineering A good understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site operations The ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on Strong health & safety awareness Good communication and organisational skills Relevant site qualifications, ideally SSSTS/SMSTS and CSCS Previous experience working for a civil engineering contractor
