We're looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our growing programme of BESS projects. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation, integrating multi-disciplinary teams from across global regions and working closely with clients to deliver future-focused, environmentally-conscious solutions.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for performance across health & safety, project delivery, and customer satisfaction—while shaping a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the delivery of BESS design projects from concept through to completion.
- Manage and grow a diverse, multidisciplinary team, setting culture and strategic direction.
- Build strong client relationships and exceed expectations through exceptional service.
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 responsibilities as Principal Designer and Designer.
- Oversee project health and safety, financial performance, and quality assurance.
- Shape and implement people strategies, including recruitment, development, and retention.
- Manage technical delivery across voltage levels from LV up to 400kV, in both transmission and DNO environments.
- Lead design for new electrical connections (contestable and non-contestable works).
- Degree-qualified in engineering or a relevant science discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent status).
- Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Strong background in both civil and electrical design within a design & build environment.
- Extensive experience in electrical network design across all voltage levels (LV to 400kV).
- Skilled in project management and delivering major infrastructure projects.
- Capable of managing tenders for large, complex projects.
