We are recruiting for an ambitious and capable Project Manager to join a team on a significant New Build Construction project in the North East of England. Operating as a No.2 working underneath a Senior Project Manager, this role would suit an existing Project Manager or Senior Site Manager who has experience of leading Construction schemes with project values in the region of £8m - £10m as a No.1.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the project from construction through to completion. You will help drive programme, quality, safety, commercial performance, and client satisfaction while leading key packages and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Senior Project Manager in the overall delivery of the scheme.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and site teams.
- Monitor programme performance and drive progress against key milestones.
- Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Chair progress meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Assist with risk management, reporting, and project controls.
- Contribute to commercial management and change control processes.
- Lead sections of the project independently and take ownership of key work packages.
- Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Background with a main contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, programming, and project controls.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent).
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications preferred.
