You’ll be an on-site delivery lead, taking projects from pre-construction and site setup through to commissioning, handover and close-out. The work ranges from wastewater treatment upgrades and pumping station works to river/culvert interventions, network rehabilitation and nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day site delivery: plan, programme and manage resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client quality standards.
- Act as the primary site contact for client representatives, designers, subcontractors and local stakeholders; provide clear progress updates and prompt resolution of site issues.
- Prepare, review and enforce site RAMS, method statements and permits to work (including permit to dig, confined space and hot works); ensure compliance with CDM and company procedures.
- Manage subcontractor performance and on-site labour, including inductions, competence checks and toolbox talks.
- Take responsibility as Temporary Works Coordinator where required; oversee installation, inspections and removal of temporary works.
- Coordinate plant, materials and logistics (including traffic management and environmental controls) to minimise programme risk and maintain safe working areas.
- Oversee commissioning, witness tests and operational handover activities (including SCADA/telemetry handover and water quality sampling liaison with operations teams).
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, cost tracking and site diaries to support commercial and delivery teams.
- Implement pollution prevention measures, ecological protections and permit conditions; respond to environmental incidents and manage remediation actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and the development of junior site staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Formal qualification: HNC/HND, Foundation degree or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent commercial/site experience.
- Site safety / management certifications: CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent).
- Experience working on water or wastewater projects (treatment works, pumping stations, sewer/network rehabilitation, river/culvert works) or within AMP/framework delivery is highly desirable.
- Proven competency or experience acting as Temporary Works Coordinator.
- Relevant technical certificates advantageous: Confined Space, First Aid at Work, NRSWA/Streetworks, Plant CPCS or equivalent.
- Strong organisational, problem solving and stakeholder management skills; confident communicator with the ability to lead multi-discipline teams.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the operational region.
