Our client specialises in housing projects across the UK and is seeking a talented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team. Key Responsibilities: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in: – Supporting the Quantity Surveyor with regular site visits and collaboration with the production team. – Assisting in the preparation and review of tenders, while gaining insights into client requirements for value engineering. – Providing preliminary cost advice on variations and aiding in the approval process. – Offering support with technical advice on project documentation and ensuring compliance with standards. – Assisting in overseeing commercial aspects of assigned projects to help maximise value in collaboration with Finance and Procurement teams. – Contributing to the efficient and accurate completion of all commercial responsibilities. – Identifying potential debt risks and assisting in negotiations with third parties. – Supporting the forecasting of monthly and annual profit figures to help maintain project viability. – Contributing to safety efforts on-site and collaborating with the safety team to uphold safety policies. What They’re Looking For: – Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent – Relevant experience or internship in Quantity Surveying is a plus. – Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel. – Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. – Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on cultivating relationships. – High level of organisation with the ability to identify and address problems effectively. – A genuine passion for the industry and a commitment to hard work.
