We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to help provide reactive and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Shift Available: Monday to Friday, alternating from 6am‑2pm and 2pm‑10pm
Salary: Competitive
The Role
- Diagnose and resolve equipment failures across mechanical, electrical and other systems—including cranes, conveyors, refrigeration and plant utilities—identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Regularly inspect and ensure the Coldstore plant is operating within temperature thresholds.
- Support refrigeration servicing schedules and report any deviations or concerns to leadership promptly.
- Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Support the wider team in working together to solve problems and keep our facility moving.
- Work in a cold environment of approximately minus 18°C, with full PPE provided to keep you warm.
- Work on ladders at height at times.
Who We’re Looking For
- A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent). Mechanical Engineering knowledge also beneficial.
- Proven hands‑on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices.
- Willingness to learn and improve your skills.
- Effective communicator in English with a proactive and adaptable approach.
