We are currently seeking a Shift Manager, who’ll play a vital role in the smooth running of our coldstore operations at our Bristol depot.
Ensuring that our stock moves efficiently and safely.
You’ll be responsible for leading a team, managing resources, and delivering on performance targets.
Shift available: Monday to Friday rotating from 6am-2pm & 2pm – 10pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Engagement – Lead and motivate a team of operatives, creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
- Days and Evenings Operations Management – Oversee end-to-end day and night operations including cross-docking, stock flow, and warehouse coordination.
- Planning & Resource Allocation – Develop shift plans and assign duties to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.
- Performance Monitoring – Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies before they become issues.
- Health, Safety & Compliance – Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Lead accident investigations and ensure all procedures are followed.
- Operational Reporting – Maintain accurate shift reports and provide regular feedback to site leadership.
- Cross-Shift Collaboration – Ensure smooth shift handovers and consistent performance across the 24-hour operation.
- Employee Development – Conduct regular reviews and coach your team to support growth and development.
- What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in warehouse or coldstore operations, ideally with supervisory or shift management responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety, stock control, and team leadership.
- Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Clear communicator with the ability to engage and align teams.
- Calm under pressure, with a solution-focused mindset.
- Comfortable working in a coldstore environment (approx. -20°C – PPE provided).
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- MHE licence is desirable but not essential.
