We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join our Night Operations Team at our Bristol, Portbury depot.

Shift Pattern Available: Sunday – Thursday 22:00-06:00.

Rate of Pay: ÂŁ16.54 per hour, plus ÂŁ55.00 per week night shift allowance, paid weekly.

We’re looking for a Team Leader to oversee our night shift operation, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient stock flow through the warehouse. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end‑to‑end night shift operation, ensuring stock moves quickly and accurately, with minimal delays.
  • Team Leadership & Engagement – Motivate, coach, and support a small team. Set the tone for the shift, fostering a culture of ownership, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Operational Management – Stay on top of stock levels, warehouse organisation, and inventory accuracy. Tackle operational issues before they become problems.
  • Planning & Scheduling – Develop daily shift plans, allocate tasks, and keep everything running to schedule, even when the unexpected happens.
  • Effective Communication – Keep your team aligned with priorities, changes, and safety updates throughout the shift.
  • WMS Monitoring – Perform regular checks using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to catch and fix stock discrepancies early.
  • Housekeeping & Safety – Drive high standards of cleanliness and safety during the night shift, setting the example and ensuring compliance.
  • Cross‑Shift Collaboration – Work closely with other team leaders and departments to ensure a smooth handover and consistent performance across all shifts.
  • Performance Reviews – Conduct regular team appraisals to assess performance, set goals, and support team development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in warehouse operations, ideally with exposure to fast‑moving logistics environments.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to engage and motivate teams – particularly in a night shift setting.
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability, with confidence in managing time‑sensitive tasks and shifting priorities.
  • WMS experience – comfortable using systems to monitor and manage inventory.
  • Resilience under pressure – calm, solutions‑focused, and quick‑thinking when challenges arise.
  • MHE licence is a plus, but not essential.
