We are currently looking for a Safety Manager at our Heywood site. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving and supporting Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) excellence. You’ll champion safety standards, influence behavioural change, and ensure our people and operations remain compliant, secure, and future‑ready.

Shift Available

For this role you will ultimately be working 40 hours per week on the Monday – Friday (Days) shift pattern 08:00–16:30, but you will be required to work multiple shift patterns to accommodate our 24/7 operation as and when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead QHSSE strategy and performance across the Heywood site.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety systems (BRC/IFS) and legal regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audit processes.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and drive preventive actions.
  • Champion Lineage's LEAN improvement programmes and safety culture.
  • Support site with MOC (Management of Change) processes.
  • Deliver training and coaching on all QHSSE topics.
  • Manage data reporting for QHSSE KPIs, audit results and incidents.
  • Oversee emergency response planning and security processes.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Stay up to date on relevant legislation and share best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or above) required.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, food safety (HACCP), and BRC standards.
  • Effective communicator at all levels in English.
  • Previous experience in cold storage or warehouse logistics a plus.
  • Skilled in influencing and leading cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office and warehouse systems (WMS preferred).
  • Able to work independently and travel occasionally as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, cold environment.
