Shift Available: 4 on 4 off days: 7am‑7pm

The Role

  • Diagnose and Resolve Equipment Failures: Quickly respond to faults across mechanical, electrical, and— including cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities—identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programmes to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and Maintain Coldstore Systems: Regularly inspect and ensure the Coldstore plant is operating within temperature thresholds. Support the refrigeration servicing schedules and report any deviations or concerns to leadership promptly. Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Support the wider team in working together to solve problems to keep our facility moving. You will do some of this work in a cold environment – approximately minus 18 °C – just like working in the freezer; but we provide full PPE to keep you warm. At times work on ladders at height.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent). Mechanical Engineering knowledge also beneficial.
  • Proven hands‑on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices.
  • Willingness to learn and improve your skills.
  • Effective communicator in English with a proactive and adaptable approach.
