To support our transformation and growth in Europe, we are recruiting a Maintenance Manager to look after our Gloucester and Bristol sites. Ideal location is Gloucester (Corinium Ave, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3BW).
Position Details
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 8 am‑4.30 pm with some weekend and on‑call work also necessary.
- Annual Salary: Competitive.
What You Will Be Doing
As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Facilities Engineering and Maintenance function, providing direction and operational support for all warehouse equipment, refrigeration contractor management, material handling equipment maintenance and facilities maintenance activities within their locations. This includes supporting internal and external stakeholder expectations and contributing toward achieving departmental goals. Emphasis is on delivering high quality goods and services to the organization at the lowest cost in a sustainable and ethical manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the performance of maintenance work, both preventative and corrective.
- Focus on safety compliance and related legal aspects.
- Carrying out and registering mandatory technical inspections.
- To advise and initiate action in your site on the Lineage Europe Maintenance and Engineering strategy in consultation with the Regional Engineering Manager (REM).
- Work closely with the Site Management to ensure timely and correct coordination of the actions/activities to be taken.
- Administering company policies and manage local SOPs.
- Establishing and implementing metrics.
- Work on sustainability projects (reducing COâ‚‚ impact of Lineage).
- Review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecasted data and champion process improvement.
- Working on site Capex and Opex projects under the guidance of the Regional Engineering Manager.
Who We’re Looking For
In the context of site integration, and with our structure in constant evolution, it is essential to be people‑oriented and to demonstrate our values and support to all employees.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Typically have five or more years of successful distribution and warehouse engineering/maintenance management and leadership.
- A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering; Electrical Engineering beneficial but not essential (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent).
- Experience working with refrigeration systems at industrial level.
- A business background to include competency in maintaining/engineering the various functional areas of refrigeration, MHE, building maintenance, warehouse automation, IT systems, and supply chain optimisation.
- An ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Excellent communicating skills in English.
