To support customer demand, we are currently seeking five additional HGV Class 2 Drivers at our Peterborough depot.
Working hours: Monday to Friday Days (typical start times vary between 4am-7am, 10-12 hour days)
Hourly Rate: £15.36 per hour paid weekly. Overtime after 39 hours paid at time and a half. Overtime availability on weekends.
Responsibilities
- Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation are running smoothly and efficiently
- Ensure the vehicle is legal and roadworthy; complete daily checks in line with the Daily Vehicle Check Sheet and Guide to maintaining road worthiness; report any vehicle defects
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner
- Complete manual handling and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs
- Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law
- Comply with tachograph requirements and driver hour limits
- Ensure the correct goods are loaded and secured before moving the vehicle
- Check goods off with customers, obtain signatures and prints
- Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and inform the Transport Manager if necessary
- Maintain DCPC periodic training hours within the five-year period
What we are looking for
- At least two years Class 2 driving experience and a valid Class 2 license
- Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC
- Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations; comfortable with night shifts
- Excellent communication skills
- Numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to operate tail lift and PPT; tail lift/pump truck used daily
- Multi-drop experience
