To support customer demand, we are currently seeking a Shunter on Nights for our Heywood depot.
Shift Available: 4 on 4 off Nights 19:*****:00
Rate of Pay: £***** per hour, plus £***** per week irregular shift allowance, and £***** night shift allowance, paid weekly.
In this role you will:
- Move trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Check/set trailer and yard temperature, add fuel if needed.
- Perform daily inspections on spotter truck and equipment.
- Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles and/or equipment.
- Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel.
- Communicate with appropriate departments on daily movements of trailers.
- Check trailer inventory and report any irregularities on log forms.
- Perform sanitation duties on trailers as assigned.
Who we're looking for:
- 6 months operating tractor trailers and/or heavy equipment experience.
- Someone with a Class CE driving licence with a valid and in date DigiTacho and CPC.
- Ability to understand instructions and communicate clearly in English.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 18 kg; weight may be more dependent upon facility.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends due to the shift pattern.
