Through cutting-edge technology, a vast logistics network, and a commitment to sustainability, we serve a broad customer base—from Fortune 500 corporations to local, family-owned businesses.

We are seeking an Electrical / Maintenance Engineer to help provide reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment at our Holmewood site.

Shift Available: Working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 7am-3.30pm or 8am-4.30pm depending on preference.

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 depending on experience

The role:

  • Diagnose and Resolve Equipment Failures: Quickly respond to faults across mechanical, electrical, and including cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities—identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and Maintain Coldstore Systems: Regularly inspect and ensure the Coldstore plant is operating within temperature thresholds. Support the refrigeration servicing schedules and report any deviations or concerns to leadership promptly.
  • Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Support the wider team in working together to solve problems to keep our facility moving.
  • You will do some of this work in a cold environment – approximately minus 18 Celsius – just like working in the freezer; but we provide full PPE to keep you warm.
  • At times work on ladders at height.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Electrical Engineering beneficial but not essential (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent)
  • Proven hands-on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices
  • Willingness to learn and improve your skills.
  • Effective communicator in English with a proactive and adaptable approach

What’s in it for me?

  • A competitive starting pay rate
  • The opportunity to earn an additional day of annual leave each year, up to the maximum of one extra week for length of service.
  • Free onsite car park
  • Social environment with a team who like to support each other to achieve goals, with recognition schemes and shared spaces to enjoy lunch and rest breaks together
  • Support your emotional well-being with access to a 24/7 employee assistance phone line offering confidential free counselling and advice
  • Preferential rates for loans and savings offered through exclusive access to a credit union
  • Refer new employees and get generous financial reward through our referral scheme
