We are supporting a large healthcare organisation in the appointment of an experienced Healthcare Ventilation Consultant to deliver a specialist consultancy assignment across a complex acute healthcare estate. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced ventilation professional with a strong background in HTM 03-01 compliance, critical ventilation systems and NHS healthcare engineering. You will act as the technical Subject Matter Expert, providing expert advice, compliance assurance and strategic guidance to support the organisation's ventilation infrastructure.

The Assignment

Working alongside the Estates and Engineering teams, you will provide specialist expertise across the full lifecycle of healthcare ventilation systems, ensuring statutory compliance and supporting best practice across critical clinical environments. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Providing expert guidance on compliance with HTM 03-01 Parts A & B and associated healthcare engineering standards.
  • Supporting and advising the organisation on ventilation governance, compliance frameworks and audit requirements.
  • Reviewing, verifying and signing off ventilation validation and commissioning documentation.
  • Overseeing verification programmes for critical environments including:
    • Operating Theatres
    • Isolation Rooms
    • Critical Care Areas
    • Clean Rooms
    • Laboratories
  • Assessing system performance including air changes, pressure regimes and filtration performance.
  • Providing technical advice relating to Air Handling Units (AHUs), HEPA filtration and specialist ventilation systems.
  • Reviewing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategies and recommending improvements.
  • Supporting the investigation and resolution of complex ventilation issues.
  • Producing compliance audits, gap analysis reports, technical recommendations, risk assessments and lifecycle strategies.
  • Contributing to long-term estates planning and ventilation compliance programmes.

About You

We are keen to hear from experienced consultants who can demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience working with healthcare ventilation systems within NHS or comparable healthcare environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTM 03-01, HTM 00 and associated healthcare engineering guidance.
  • Experience delivering ventilation validation, verification and compliance programmes.
  • Mechanical or Building Services Engineering qualifications.
  • Experience supporting critical clinical environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and technical reporting skills.
  • Authorised Person (Ventilation) status or equivalent experience would be highly advantageous.

Contract Details

  • Duration: Initial 3–6 month consultancy assignment
  • Location: Hybrid with site visits as required
  • Day Rate: Competitive / Negotiable depending on experience
