Finegreen are supporting a leading healthcare organisation in West Yorkshire with the appointment of an experienced Head of Estates. This is a significant senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished Estates professional to take responsibility for the delivery, performance and strategic development of a complex healthcare estate.

Joining at an exciting period of investment and transformation, the successful candidate will provide professional leadership across Estates Technical Services and Capital Development, ensuring the organisation maintains a safe, compliant, sustainable and high‑performing environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The Role

The Head of Estates will have overall responsibility for a broad technical portfolio incorporating operational Estates and maintenance, mechanical and electrical asset management, statutory compliance, capital development, medical engineering, fire safety, Health & Safety, asbestos and Legionella control, waste, sustainability, utilities, energy management, property utilisation and external contract management.

The role will lead the Premises Assurance Model (PAM) and ensure accurate submission of Estates data including PAM, ERIC and CQC requirements. A key focus will be maintaining robust compliance across all HTM disciplines, ensuring appropriately qualified Authorised Persons are in place for critical systems including medical gases, ventilation, water, fire, electrical infrastructure, decontamination and lifts.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a senior Estates leader with significant NHS or healthcare experience, a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, and membership of a professional body such as CIBSE, IHEEM, RICS or RIBA. Chartered status or working towards it is desirable. Strong technical knowledge of HTMs, compliance, capital delivery, contract management and team leadership is essential.
