We are currently supporting a large healthcare organisation in the appointment of a senior clinician, who holds extensive experience in the management of Clinical Governance, Quality and Assurance in an acute setting. The position will be for an initial period of 3 months, but this may well extend beyond this and there may be an opportunity to apply for the permanent position but this is not a requirement.
Role Overview:
- In collaboration with the senior leadership team, provide visible leadership and direction to ensure that there are effective Integrated Governance systems, implemented and devolved across the organisation, ensuring risks are identified and managed via assurance framework processes.
- Ensure that the organisation complies with statutory, regulatory, contractual and best practice requirements in relation to governance and quality, with effective assurance monitoring processes in place, through ward to Senior Management Team integrated reporting and risk escalation processes.
- Ensure the governance systems and processes align to national requirements and best practice.
- Responsibility for DOC compliance, complaint process compliance, supporting risk manager and audit team oversight.
Person Specification:
- Registered Clinician.
- Considerable experience of managing governance at a senior level in a large, complex healthcare.
- Proven experience of managing staff from a range of professional backgrounds within an Acute NHS environment and in developing clinical teams.
- Significant experience in managing patient safety, clinical effectiveness, health & safety, compliance and legal departments.
- Demonstrates breadth and depth of understanding of current NHS policy and ability to develop corporate strategies and policies and to implement them in practice.
- Significant knowledge of statutory, regulatory requirements within governance in the NHS.
